Zara (Spanish: [ˈθara]) is a Spanish clothing and accessories retailer based in Arteixo, Galicia, and founded in 1975 by Amancio Ortega and Rosalia Mera. It is the flagship chain store of the Inditex group; the fashion group also owns brands such as Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Oysho, Uterqüe, Stradivarius andBershka.

It is claimed that Zara needs just two weeks^[1] to develop a new product and get it to stores, compared with a six-month industry average, and launches around 10,000 new designs each year. Zara has resisted the industry-wide trend towards transferring fast fashion production to low-cost countries. Perhaps its most unusual strategy was its policy of zero advertising; the company preferred to invest a percentage of revenues in opening new stores instead.

Zara was described by Louis Vuitton fashion director Daniel Piette as "possibly the most innovative and devastating retailer in the world." Zara has also been described as a "Spanish success story" by CNN.

Zara's products

As of 2007 Zara stores have men's clothing and women's clothing, each of these subdivided in Lower Garment, Upper Garment, Shoes, Cosmetics and Complements, as well as children's clothing (Zara Kids). Currently their sizing on women's clothing goes to a US size 12 or a UK size 14 or extra large.

Environmental Design Assignment Phase 1 - Research Process

The Design Idea

I am doing on fashion category.The brand I chose is Zara Spring Collection 2011 exhibition.

The metaphor I chose is spring flowers.

I love the images of tree branches as I was inspired by the structure and shape of the branches as the images of the branches looks polygonal and circling.

This is a study for mural wall color choices of the exhibition design. So that I will not pick the wrong colors and also know the range of options for me to pick.

I like this concept or idea that i found in Google while doing research. I decided to use this idea in the exhibition as I think is space saving which is good for this small size exhibition.

Hello, recently still very busy with works and this is something extra that i have just completed the sketches of few kinds of pandas and raccoons.

Wanting to have time to make a comic of these two cartoon characters.
So, I need your help. Tell my among all these, which one of them you like the most and why? also which pair of these two character you like the most? and have to choose the one that you think its special. if none of here you find it special or unique then i might as well continue doodle more XD

Directory sign board design assignment

Hello! long time no update recently. I was busy doing assignments and some other outdoor activities.

This semester my class have this subject called environmental design which is for study about design exhibition stage and some sign board design, so will learn about some architecture stuff such as using their tools to design  draw accurately the stage or the standing board, etc.

below are the images of my final chosen design for directory in mall.

this is the final design here. and the human figure beside it shows how big is the directory is.

 this is my first attempt to make the model mock up but my cutting skill and the sticking them together did not executed nicely. So, I didn't use this one.

After further developing the design and playing with texturing, patterns, I plan to redo the mock up with one different material added in which is the semi transparent color plastic card.

Done! but my cutting skill still bad hahaha.

I just finished my exam yesterday for this semester, so tomorrow will try to work some new artwork for update! =) haha

New update =)

Recently busy doing assignments, still haven't got the time to do any artworks for my own. Anyway, I am happy that i finally got a friend find me to do design for her business assignment. She want me to design a logo for her restaurant business assignment and her group gave the name called " Happy Season/s".

Below here are my Media Innovation / Advertising design assignment. The task is to choose a food product that sells in the supermarket and analyse the situation for the market place and SWOT. Then create and design a logo, tagline, voucher/coupon,  paper bag, packaging, 3d modelling and animation for the new product we created.

I chose instant noodle snack and named it Owlker which derived from Owl Rocker. Owl represents the night and rocker means the people who rock/work means night rocker which is my target audience. They are late night workers or study late night and also love midnight snack.

The tagline is " Taste the midnight rocker." which is a metaphor that midnight rocker is the snack food. Means with the midnight rocker (instant noodle snack), your night will be rocked by Owlker, away from the dull working overtime mood.

Thus, the paper bag design  which I chose the background with lines which reminds me or the notebook papers to shows like working or studying days where you need to drop things down, to bring closer to the target audience, at the same time, i put colorful circles with the pattern/texture of the noodle which also represent the shape of the food product and also the colours are to cheer the workers up from their dull working days. The thunders and the moon with stars gives the rocker mood and meaning to relate back to the night rocker concept. Because of target audience is urban workers and students, I added the city buildings. Thunder symbol also gives the meaning of the crispy noodle.

New Sketch - Joker Queen

It's a  sketch i drawn halfway last semester and this semester i complete it while waiting for another class to come. =)

When i first finished this drawing, i just see her like a joker queen, then i named it joker queen, drawn with ball pens and highlighter and makers then edited the background colors in photoshop.
